About Sara.
I grew up in Rockford, MI and attended Rockford Public Schools K-12, graduating in 2005. I then went to Michigan State University and majored in Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Science and was a part of the College of Education. I graduated in 2009 and began my student teaching at Otto Middle School in Lansing in the Fall. In April 2010, I completed the internship program. From there I accepted a job at Henry Ford Academy: School for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI teaching middle school social studies. While there I taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade World Studies and was the lead (grade-level chairperson) for the 6th & 8th-grade teams.
In June of 2013 I got married and my husband accepted a position at West Ottawa High School. We moved back to Grand Rapids and in August I accepted a position at Forest Hills Northern High School teaching US History and World History. I am in the 5th year of teaching and my 2nd year at FHN.
