Welcome to my Classroom...
Currently, I teach at Forest Hills Northern High School in Grand Rapids, MI. We are one of three high schools in the district with approximately 1100 students. The student body is socio-economically diverse, as well as ethnically diverse. This diversity brings points of view to the classroom that many schools aren't fortunate enough to have.
I teach US History and AP World History. My classroom is set up to feel comfortable for my students. As you can see in the pictures below, I've found ways to bring color into my room. I've also strung lights throughout the room and will often use those along with lamps instead of the overhead lights. This creates a much less harsh light for learning. I often hear kids remark "Her room is so cute" or "Her room is so comfortable", and that is the best thing I can hear. |
